✏️ 724 Press Collective Writing Challenge: 30 Days of Summer ✨

Hey writers, poets, journalers, and word-loving creatives — ready to light up your summer with fresh inspiration?

At 724 Press Collective, we believe in the power of words to heal, connect, and spark change. Whether you’re chasing book deadlines, scribbling poetry in your notes app, or just craving a little creative ritual in your day, our Summer Writing Challenge is here to help you show up for yourself and your stories.

This isn’t a rigid, high-pressure thing. It’s a vibe. Join our community of writers as we spend the season reflecting, creating, and celebrating our voices.

🌸 How It Works:

30 days. 15 creative prompts. Zero pressure.

  • Write as often as you want — every day, twice a week, or whenever inspiration hits.

  • Share your favorite lines or reflections with us on Instagram @724presscollective using the hashtag #724SummerWrite.

  • Build your own ritual: early morning journaling, golden hour poetry, late-night musings — this is your space.

Whether you’re looking for writer’s block cures, new creative prompts, or a supportive online community, this challenge was made for you.

✍🏽 15 Summer Writing Prompts to Get You Started:

  1. Describe summer as if it’s a lover you can’t quit. What does it smell like? What lies does it tell you?

  2. “The heat made us reckless.” Write about the night you didn’t want to end.

  3. List 7 things you’d leave behind in the July sun to burn away. What rises from the ashes?

  4. Write a poem from the perspective of sweat on someone’s skin. Where does it travel? What secrets does it hear?

  5. “The cicadas screamed like prophets.” Finish the scene.

  6. Describe a storm that breaks the heat. Who or what does it wash away?

  7. Write about your favorite sin under a full moon.

  8. If your summer heartbreak was a color, what shade would it bleed?

  9. “I tasted freedom and it was overripe fruit, dripping down my chin.” Write what comes next.

  10. Write about the moment when a person feels like a season. Hot, thick, temporary.

  11. Create a poem using only the language of dusk — shadows, fireflies, porch lights, last call.

  12. Describe a place where time melts, where hours stick to your skin. Who waits for you there?

  13. “If I disappeared tonight, the only thing I’d miss is…”

  14. Write a poem made entirely of heatwave confessions.

  15. End your summer with a curse, a prayer, or a love note to the sun.

💫 Why Join a Writing Challenge?

Creative consistency matters. Writing a little each day (or week) keeps your imagination active and your voice sharp. It also reconnects you with why you started writing in the first place.

Community makes everything better. Tag us @724presscollective, drop your favorite lines in our DMs, and check the #724SummerWrite tag for fellow writers on this journey. We’ll be sharing our favorite submissions all summer long.
