Start your Sunday morning grounded in nature and creativity.
Join us for a rejuvenating Nature Walk & Write — a one-of-a-kind gathering blending mindful movement with reflective writing exercises. We’ll stroll along Eleanor Tinsley Park’s scenic trails, pausing at intentional moments to observe, reflect, and capture the beauty around us through poetry, prose, or however inspiration finds you.
What to bring:
A notebook or journal
A pen (or a few — you know how they disappear)
Comfortable walking shoes
Water to stay hydrated
This is an inclusive, come-as-you-are event. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just craving a peaceful space to reconnect with your words, you're welcome here.

We’re proud to host Roots & Rhythm: HTX Juneteenth Open Mic, a night to honor Black voices, artistry, and resilience. Celebrate Juneteenth with us in true 724 fashion — surrounded by poets, musicians, and creators of all kinds. Whether you’re ready to step up to the mic or simply take in the incredible performances, this evening is for you.
What to Expect:
✨ Happy Hour & Local Vendors (7:00–8:30 PM): Sip on Five Central’s specials and browse unique offerings from Houston’s local makers.
🎙️ Featured Poet Performances: Prepare to be moved by a lineup of guest poets sharing their voices and stories.
📖 Open Mic Sign-Ups (8:30 PM): Share your words — every voice matters here. All poetry styles and experience levels are welcome.
🤝 Community Connection: Meet fellow creatives, celebrate Juneteenth, and experience the joy of art made and shared together.
